According to this article:
"Monie's" success story is but a blip in comparison to the surprises Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" is yielding among young adults. For the past few weeks, the show's 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. mature viewing animation block has been beating the Sansabelts off David Letterman, Jay Leno, Craig Kilborn, Conan O'Brien and Carson Daly among 18- to 24-year-old viewers, particularly males.
First, awesome. Second, this is not really a huge surprise to me. Sure, Conan and Dave are funny, but their shtick gets tired. So, we young males turn to edgier programming that we can't find on the networks. This is exactly why the networks got scared when cable broke big in the 80s.
Soon, as the article also mentions, TNN will become Spike TV and offer up a number of original adult-aimed cartoons. Two of these are "Striperella," with the voice of Pamela Anderson, and all new episodes of "Ren and Stimpy," which -- according to my roommate who works at the station -- shirk all boundaries and actually show Ren and Stimpy getting it on in bed. Spike TV definitely understands that young adults like cartoons, unfortunately their new offerings seem to be a bit forced.
I'm hoping this shift in viewership will send a message to the networks and all the channels: young people want interesting programming. We will not stand for "Good Morning, Miami" and "The King of Queens." These shows do nothing original and are plain boring. Bring us good, interesting, entertaining content and we will watch. We promise.

ummm SpikeTV's motto is "the first network for men" fuck that station and fuck their cartoons...like all the other stations on earth aren't owned run and operated by men...minus like 2 stations. seriously, do the world a favor and don't buy into what they are selling.

Adult Swim rules all! SpikeTV stinks. Cartoon Network is the real cartoon kingdom! Geeze. These people and their stupid channels. Also, Adult Swim is going down in quality. No Futurama, no Kinkider, and no Inu-Yasha. At least Inu-Yasha is coming back August 25th.

The best show on adult swim is stronger than ever. This last season of ATHF was the best shows in TV history. And Sealab 2021 was darn good too. Oh yeah and Spike TV does suck, but would somebody give the feminist PCer a kleanex. If you don't like the programming change the damn channel. And why is it ok to have "TV for women" - oxygen, WE, Lifetime, etc. but not for men? Who cares who runs them.

It's okay to have "TV for women" because of those feminists... Men don't give a damn. And Adult Swim is just as good as ever... Watching Kikaider and Futurama repeats over and over would've made it go down in quality. And since Inu-Yasha is coming back with new episodes, there is no reason to complain about it. And SpikeTV doesn't suck... That much anyway. Adult Swim is definitely better.

I hope you wouldn't say that about BET or spanish speaking stations. Same issue. The people who own the stations control the programming. And the TV for Women stations are horrendous. They continue to promote what men like you believe women should be. Most "pc feminazis" protest those stations anyway. Pay attention. I cry for such unenlightened members of society like you dudes.

Actually its NOT the same issue. You see there actually are actual measurable provable differences b/w men and women and their viewing habits. The same can't be said, or at least its much harder to make a case for, the differences b/w races. If the TV stations for women suck and are run by men... go out and start your own... free country you know. And exactly what am I supposed to pay attention to again? Back on topic.. Sunday night adult swim is the best programming on television.

Good to know that Adult Swim is finally getting some credit. With great comedies like Futurama and Family Guy and supurb animes like Trigun, FLCL, and most of all Inuyasha (comes back on next week!), they deserve to be getting some decent raitings. Also about the whole Spike TV for men thing, I say who cares, make a TV station for men. I'm not going to waste my time on it but I guess some people might watch it.

Striperella proves what I have believed for years. Pam Anderson is a diseased, vomit inducing monstrosity.
Some dolts decided to keep her stench in show busines, but to compromise with the intelligent part of civilization they replaced her nausiating cadaver with a cartoon.
On the other hand, "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" is very entertaining. And they probably have more accurate voice dubs than Inuyasha.

It takes a cartoon to see the 'real'?
